On October 20th, Thame’s archaeology and history enthusiasts met for the Thame History Fair, which welcomed over 250 visitors throughout the day. Hosted by Thame Museum at Thame Town Hall, the event delved into the area’s rich history and archaeology, with attendees visiting pop-up displays and talks.
The event also provided the opportunity for OCA to launch both volumes of our recently published excavations at Thame, undertaken in advance of housing development to the north of Oxford Road in 2015. The book launch was met with enthusiasm, with numerous copies of the publications being sold.
A highlight of the fair was a half-hour talk by the OCA Project Leader, Chris Ellis, who shared insights into our archaeological discoveries at Thame to an attentive crowd of around 50 local listeners.
